MOHS’ Hardness Test Kit

The Husqvarna MOHS’ test kit provides users with a means of conducting a simple scratch to determine the rough hardness or measure of the resistance of a smooth surface to scratching or abrasion.
We recommend using this kit prior to hiring our diamond cutting or grinding machines, to determine the correct type of diamond bond to use.
It is particularly recommended to be used prior to the hiring of our of Diamond Floor Grinder, as the diamond segments for this machine are expensive. Selecting the wrong diamond segments can lead to excessive wear.
The MOHS’ scale of mineral hardness is a qualitative original scale from 1 to 10, which was devised by German mineralogist Friedrich Mohs in 1812.
